Two Men Arrested For Threatening To Kill President Biden In Separate Incidents

A Kansas man who said God told him to visit President Joe Biden was apprehended outside a Hagerstown Cracker Barrel Friday for threatening to kill the president.

According to charging documents, Scott Ryan Merryman told police in Independence, Kansas, on Jan. 25 that he was headed to Washington, D.C., to see the president. He said God told him to “lop off the head of the serpent in the heart of the nation.” He also allegedly posted “a series of increasingly threatening verbiage” on Facebook this week.

He also told a special agent: “I’m coming for his bi*$% a** sleepy Joe. I’m talking about President Biden and you can quote me… I’m coming with three bullets no guns. I am now coming by myself.”

Merryman was apprehended on Jan. 26th at the Cracker Barrel on Col. Henry K. Douglas Drive. He said “he had to deliver a message to President Biden, and advise him that people were fed up with the divisiveness in the country and to turn back to God (or go to hell).”

According to the charging documents, no weapons were found on him, but he did have a loaded magazine with three rounds of ammunition and a spotting scope.

Merryman said he did not have a weapon and that the rounds belonged to a Ruger 1911; he said he no longer had the gun but wouldn’t say where it was.

Another man, Ryan Matthew Conlon, 37, of Halethorpe, Maryland is accused of sending a string of messages to the NSA and FBI tiplines threatening to bomb the White House to kill the president, blow up the NSA’s headquarters in Ft. Meade, Maryland, and carry out a mass shooting of NSA employees.

Conlon was arrested last week.

Conlon and Merryman are just the latest to be arrested in connection to alleged threats against government officials, which have increased in recent years.
