Woman Who Tweeted Her ‘White Skin’ Would Keep Her Out of Jail Gets 60 Days for Capitol Riot

A Texas woman who boasted about not going to jail for her role in the Capitol riot has now been sentenced to two months behind bars.

Real estate agent Jenna Ryan received the sixty-day sentence on Thursday after initially pleading guilty on August 19th to one misdemeanor count of parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.

Ryan confessed that she was a part of the mob that entered the Capitol on January 6th to protest the certification of votes that named Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election.

Ryan traveled by private jet to Washington, D.C., the day before the riot and documented her lavish trip on social media. Ryan says, “we’re going to go down and storm the Capitol” in a now-deleted video and asks followers to wish her luck.

After her arrest, Ryan wrote on Twitter that she wouldn’t be doing any jail time because she was a white woman.

“Definitely not going to jail. Sorry I have blonde hair, white skin, a great job, a great future, and I’m not going to jail” and “I did nothing wrong,” the tweet read.

The avid Trump supporter was photographed multiple times during the Capitol riot, acting as a “cheerleader.”

After her sentencing, Ryan spoke with WUSA9 Chief Investigative Reporter Eric Flack, expressing frustration in the outcome of her case.

“I’m disappointed that I’m being used as an example because other people that walked in for two minutes may not have the same thing, but because I’m a public person and I have a Twitter account, I’m being punished for that,” she stated.

In addition to her jail stint, Ryan has been ordered to pay $500 in restitution.
