Matt Gaetz’s Request To Meet With Trump Was Denied

Republican Florida Representative Matt Gaetz, who is under investigation for sexual misconduct allegations, was denied a meeting with former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

Two people familiar with the matter said Gaetz tried to schedule a visit with Trump after it was first revealed that he was being investigated, but the request was rejected by aides close to the former President, who have urged Trump not to stick his neck out to defend Gaetz.

“Rep. Gaetz was welcomed to Trump Doral this week and has not sought to meet with President Trump himself,” Harlan Hill, a spokesman for Gaetz said.

Jason Miller, a spokesman for President Trump, said that Gaetz didn’t request a meeting and was not denied.

Federal investigators are trying to get to the bottom of whether Gaetz had sex with a 17-year-old girl and if he gave money to women recruited through the internet for sex.

Gaetz denied all allegations made against him.

Many are calling for the representative to resign.

“I’m built for the battle, and I’m not going anywhere,” Gaetz said.
