President Joe Biden will hold his first fundraiser since being elected to support Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.
Lance Bottoms endorsed Biden early in his candidacy. She campaigned for him in Iowa and spoke at the Democratic National Convention.
The Mayor was rumored early on to be a potential vice presidential contender. She was offered a Cabinet position in the administration, which she said she turned down.
Biden selected Bottoms to serve as the Democratic National Committee’s vice chair of civic engagement and voter protection earlier this year.
Bottoms is seeking a second term as the city’s mayor.
According to an invitation first obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, donations between $100 and $10,000 will be listed during the virtual event, which is set to take place on Friday.
