White House Releases Trump’s Physical: “Excellent Health,” Doctor Says

President Donald Trump is in “excellent health” and remains fully capable of carrying out his presidential duties, according to the results of a comprehensive physical exam conducted Friday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the White House announced Sunday.

In a memo released by White House physician Capt. Sean Barbabella, the 78-year-old president was praised for his “active lifestyle” and “frequent victories in golf events,” which were cited as contributing factors to his well-being.

“President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” Barbabella wrote.

Weight Down, Blood Pressure Steady

The report showed minor yet notable improvements in some health metrics since his last known physical in 2023:

  • Weight: 224 pounds (down from 244 in 2020)

  • Blood pressure: 128/74 (compared to 121/79 in 2020)

Barbabella also confirmed that Trump passed a comprehensive neurological exam with “no abnormalities in his mental status,” underscoring confidence in the president’s cognitive sharpness.

Mention of Gunshot Wound From 2024 Assassination Attempt

One surprising detail in the report referenced scarring on the president’s right ear as a result of the July 2024 assassination attempt, in which Trump was wounded by a gunshot during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Beyond the mention of the scar, the memo did not elaborate on the injury or any lasting effects.

Notably, the gunshot wound was not previously confirmed in official health documents, and its brief mention here raised eyebrows for its casual placement among routine observations.

Colonoscopy Findings and Age-Related Conditions

The White House also disclosed the results of a colonoscopy conducted in July 2024, which found:

  • Diverticulosis (a common condition where small pouches develop in the digestive tract)

  • A benign polyp, which was removed without complication

No other significant concerns were reported.
