Ahead of the midterms and in celebration of National Voter Registration Day, When We All Vote will host the National Voter Registration Week of Action to mobilize volunteers and current and future voters to head back to the ballot box this fall and in 2022.
When We All Vote will kick things off with the, #BacktotheBallotBox Rally on September 23rd, which will feature remarks from Co-Chairs Michelle Obama and Chris Paul, Regina Hall, and more.
During the #BacktotheBallotBox Week of Action, When We All Vote will call on its volunteers, supporters, and student ambassadors to host voter registration drives in their local communities, sign up to register voters in a high-traffic areas, and call on the Senate to pass the Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
Angela Yee, Brittany Packnett, local organizers and other special guests will also join When We All Vote for events and discussions during the week that will energize and mobilize current and future voters.
In 2020, 160 million Americans cast their ballots—shattering voter turnout records and making history. Now, in 2021, voter suppression tactics have advanced, with more than 500 proposed voter suppression bills in states across the country.
These harmful voter suppression tactics will negatively impact Americans’ freedom to vote, especially Black, Brown and young voters, and voters with disabilities. To combat these efforts, When We All Vote’s #BacktotheBallotBox Week of Action will host daily activations to deploy voters in the fight for the right to vote.
