Lev Parnas Slams Trump and Allies Over False Biden Allegations in House Oversight Hearing

Jimmy Williams

Lev Parnas, a former associate of Rudy Giuliani and a key figure in the Trump impeachment inquiry, testified before the House Oversight Committee, condemning former President Donald Trump and his allies for spreading false allegations against the Biden family. Parnas accused Trump, Giuliani, and others of creating falsehoods to serve their own interests, undermining the nation’s integrity.

Parnas singled out prominent figures like Devin Nunes and Ron Johnson, as well as media personalities such as Sean Hannity, for perpetuating misinformation about the Bidens. He emphasized that the allegations against Biden were baseless and originated from Russian sources, aiming to manipulate public opinion.

In his testimony, Parnas highlighted recent indictments and arrests related to individuals peddling false information about the Bidens, linking them to Russian interference in U.S. elections. He expressed his belief that there was a larger plan by Russia to infiltrate the United States and manipulate its political landscape.

Despite his efforts to convey information to federal prosecutors since 2019, Parnas claimed he was ignored by the Justice Department. His attorney, Joe Bondy, criticized the lack of response from authorities and suggested that early intervention could have prevented further harm.

Parnas also revealed insights into his collaboration with Giuliani, describing it as being akin to being in a “cult.” He admitted to being influenced by false narratives and acknowledged his wrongdoing after facing legal consequences.

Representatives for Giuliani and the Russian Embassy declined to comment on Parnas’ testimony. Meanwhile, House Republicans continued their inquiry into the Biden family, prompting criticism from the White House.

Hunter Biden and his associate Devon Archer declined to appear at the hearing, with their attorneys citing inadequate preparation time and labeling the hearing as a “carnival sideshow.” Hunter Biden’s lawyer insisted on including relatives of former President Trump in any legitimate hearing.

As the impeachment inquiry and investigations unfold, Parnas’s testimony sheds light on the complex web of misinformation and foreign interference that has plagued American politics in recent years.
