Gretchen Whitmer Kidnap Suspects Facing ‘Weapon Of Mass Destruction’ Charge

Federal prosecutors are charging the three men who are accused of plotting to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer with conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction.

The US Attorneys Office for the Western District of Michigan says that Adam Fox, Barry Croft, and Daniel Joseph Harris were going to use destructive devices to carry out their plans to kidnap Governor Whitmer.

The men have had these new charges added after a grand jury claimed that they planned to use “weapons of mass destruction” to blow up a bridge, the justice department said.

According to the indictment, Fox ordered $4,000 of explosives from an FBI agent. The indictment describes how Croft and Harris tested the effectiveness of the explosives by detonating an IED containing shrapnel near human-like targets.

The three men were among a group of more than a dozen people who had been charged with plotting to kidnap the governor. The group is associated with the “Wolverine Watchmen.”

According to the federal criminal complaint, the FBI caught on to the group’s scheme through social media.
