White House Delays Release of Trump Medical Exam Results After Walter Reed Visit

The White House has yet to release any results from President Donald Trump’s medical and dental exams at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center earlier this week.

A White House official said Tuesday that officials expected to provide “a readout in the next day or so.” Trump, who turns 80 on June 14, is the oldest president ever inaugurated and has faced ongoing scrutiny over his health throughout his second term.

Trump visited Walter Reed on Tuesday for both medical and dental evaluations. It marked his third visit to the military hospital since his inauguration last year. He has also visited his personal dentist in West Palm Beach, Florida, twice this year — once in January and again earlier this month for a follow-up appointment, according to the White House.

On his way back from Walter Reed on Tuesday, Trump wrote on Truth Social: “Everything checked out PERFECTLY.”

There is no constitutional or legal requirement for presidents to release medical records, but most modern presidents — including Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan — have publicly disclosed health information while in office.

After Trump underwent the first physical exam of his second term in April 2025, White House physician Sean Barbabella released a detailed letter within 48 hours. The report included Trump’s height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, blood work results, medications and medical history.

This time, the White House has not released any information about Trump’s vitals, medications, lab work or additional testing within a similar time frame. The White House did not immediately respond to questions about whether it still planned to disclose details from the visit.

Trump also visited Walter Reed on Oct. 10 to meet with staff and service members. During that visit, Barbabella said the president underwent “another routine physical evaluation to ensure continued optimal health.”

According to Barbabella, Trump also received advanced imaging “to definitively rule out any cardiovascular issues.” The physician described the results as “perfectly normal” and said they “revealed absolutely no abnormalities.”

Trump initially referred to the imaging as an MRI before later clarifying that it had been a CT scan.

Barbabella’s summary from the October visit was less detailed than the April report, but it stated that “President Donald J. Trump remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance.” The doctor also said Trump received preventive screenings and immunizations ahead of international travel, including flu and Covid vaccinations.

Trump’s health has drawn increased attention in recent months, particularly because of bruising visible on his hands and several public appearances in which he appeared to fall asleep.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal published in January, Trump attributed the bruising — often concealed with makeup — to taking more aspirin than doctors recommended.

“They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart,” Trump told the Journal.

In July, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common and generally benign condition among older adults.
