Trump Says MRI Results Were “Perfect” After Walter Reed Checkup

President Donald Trump said Monday that he underwent an MRI scan during his recent medical checkup at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, describing the results as “perfect.”

The president confirmed the imaging test while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One en route to Tokyo, part of his ongoing tour of Asia. The MRI came during a follow-up examination in early October, roughly six months after his annual physical in April.

“I did, I got an MRI, it was perfect, yep,” Trump said. “I gave you the full results. We had an MRI and the machine, you know, the whole thing, and it was perfect.”

When asked what the test was for, Trump replied, “You could ask the doctors. In fact, we have doctors traveling with us. But I think they gave you a very conclusive — nobody has ever given you reports like I gave you.”

The president added that his physicians told him he had “some of the best reports, for the age, some of the best reports they’ve ever seen.”

In a memo following the October visit, Capt. Sean Barbarella, the president’s physician, wrote that Trump was in excellent health and that his cardiac age “was found to be approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age.”

Barbarella said the president’s evaluation included “advanced imaging, laboratory testing, and preventive health assessments,” adding that “comprehensive laboratory studies performed in conjunction with the visit were exceptional, including stable metabolic, hematologic, and cardiac parameters.”

It remains unclear whether the MRI was conducted as a preventive measure or to address a specific medical concern.
