Trump Launches Personal Attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris at Latino Event in Miami

At a Latino outreach campaign event in Miami on Tuesday, former President Donald Trump unleashed a series of personal attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris, describing her as “the worst” and questioning her intelligence.

“This woman is the worst. I mean, it’s just unbelievable,” Trump said during the roundtable event with Latino leaders. He went on to label Harris as “slow” and possessing a “low IQ,” doubling down on the rhetoric he has used to criticize the country’s first female, Black, and South Asian vice president.

Trump first criticized Harris for selecting Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. “I think she made a horrible mistake. We’ll see what happens on Nov. 5, but there’s something wrong with him. Honestly, there’s something wrong, and there’s something wrong with her too. She’s slow, low IQ, something, I don’t know what the hell it is, but they lied,” Trump claimed without providing evidence.

The former president didn’t stop there, attacking Harris for not appearing on the campaign trail the same day. “You have 14 days left, and she’ll take a couple more days off, too. You know why? She’s lazy as hell, and she’s got that reputation, and she’s a radical left lunatic,” Trump said. He added that Harris is “further left than Bernie Sanders” and used a derogatory nickname for Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., calling her “Pocahontas.”

Harris has been engaging in a series of high-profile interviews, including sit-downs with NBC News’ Hallie Jackson and Telemundo’s Julio Vaqueiro, as part of her campaign strategy. She has been criticized by Trump and his allies for initially avoiding interviews earlier in the campaign. However, Harris has since ramped up her media appearances, including a recent interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” which Trump declined to participate in.

Trump has a long history of attacking Harris with similar rhetoric. He often refers to her as “dumb” and “crazy,” and his remarks on Tuesday reflect his ongoing strategy to discredit her. During a recent rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Trump dismissed calls to soften his tone, particularly with women voters. “I don’t want to be nice. Somebody said, ‘You should be nice, sir. Women won’t like it,’” Trump said at the rally. He added: “The women want safety.”

At another rally in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, over the weekend, Trump escalated his personal attacks on Harris, telling supporters, “We can’t stand you. You’re a s— vice president.”

NBC News reached out to the Harris campaign for a response but had not received a comment at the time of publication. As the 2024 presidential race intensifies, Trump’s remarks highlight his aggressive approach against the Democratic nominee, while Harris continues to push her policy-focused campaign in key battleground states.
