Trump Launches Diamond-Studded Watch Line Amid 2024 Campaign

Donald Trump has unveiled his latest business venture: a collection of diamond-encrusted watches. The Republican presidential candidate, who has previously sold Bibles, sneakers, photo books, and cryptocurrency during his third campaign for the White House, introduced the “Official Trump Watch Collection” on Thursday.

The collection includes luxury watches, with the most expensive model priced at $100,000. This top-tier watch features 122 diamonds on its bezel and is available in three 18-karat gold styles. A more affordable “Fight Fight Fight” model is listed at $499.

Trump’s latest venture continues his long-standing tradition of merging business with his political ambitions. The launch of the watch line, coming just 40 days before Election Day, has the potential to spark criticism that Trump is monetizing his campaign. This is especially relevant as he accuses his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, of being disconnected from the economic challenges faced by ordinary Americans.

While the sales websites for Trump’s merchandise state that proceeds do not directly benefit Trump or his campaign, they clarify that the products are subject to a “paid license agreement.” This arrangement has allowed Trump to profit from branded merchandise, including water, vodka, and steaks, long before he entered politics.

Earlier this week, Trump announced the sale of $100 silver coins bearing his face. In March, he urged his supporters on Truth Social to buy a “God Bless the USA Bible” for $59.99. The Bible, inspired by country singer Lee Greenwood’s patriotic song, is part of a series of branded products that include “Never Surrender High-Tops” sneakers and “Victory47” cologne, all marketed under Trump’s name.

Trump’s ventures are often linked to CIC Ventures LLC, a company he owns, as disclosed in his 2023 financial statement. The company holds licensing agreements with various entities, including 45Footwear, which markets Trump-branded shoes. These agreements allow Trump’s name, likeness, and image to be used under paid license deals.

The watches and other merchandise come at a time when Trump faces a $489 million civil fraud judgment, which a New York appellate court is considering reducing or reversing. The financial blow hasn’t stopped Trump from continuing to expand his brand through various licensed products.

The watches are sold by TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC, which uses Trump’s name and likeness under a paid license agreement. According to a disclaimer on the sales site, neither the Trump Organization nor Trump’s campaign benefits from the sales of these watches. Instead, the products are marketed as collectible items intended for individual enjoyment, not as investments.

Trump’s campaign declined to comment on the specifics of the licensing deal, referring questions to the Trump Organization, which did not respond. TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC also did not immediately reply to inquiries regarding the details of the arrangement.

Trump’s ongoing business ventures, particularly amid his presidential bid, highlight his unique approach to blending his personal brand with his political ambitions—a strategy that continues to fuel both support and scrutiny.
