President Donald Trump’s doctor just gave him a clean bill of health, and the MAGA crowd is losing it.
Trump underwent his routine physical at Walter Reed where he received both a COVID-19 booster and a flu shot. His physician said he’s in “exceptional health,” noting that his vitals, bloodwork, and test results all came back strong.
What should have been a simple health update quickly became a political controversy. Many MAGA supporters who have long been skeptical of vaccines are angry that Trump rolled up his sleeve again. Social media posts from Truth Social, X, and other right-wing corners show disappointment and even outrage, with some calling it a betrayal of his base.
The move also raised eyebrows because Trump’s current Health Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is one of the country’s most outspoken vaccine critics. So Trump publicly getting boosters sent mixed signals, especially to followers who have made anti-vaccine sentiment part of their identity.
Trump has faced similar backlash before. He has praised Operation Warp Speed and encouraged vaccination in past interviews, often reminding supporters that he was behind the rapid development of the first COVID vaccine. Still, every time he mentions it, parts of his base push back hard.
This time, though, the tension feels sharper. Supporters are questioning whether their leader is still aligned with their views, while Trump’s camp insists the shots are simply about maintaining good health, not policy.
