Trump Blasts Epstein File Supporters as “Weaklings” in Social Media Rant

In a stunning rebuke to a segment of his MAGA base, President Donald Trump on Wednesday disavowed supporters who have pushed for the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, calling them “weaklings” who “bought into this bulls—.”

The blistering post on Trump’s Truth Social platform marked his sharpest break yet from right-wing activists and Republican lawmakers demanding more transparency from the Justice Department over Epstein’s ties to powerful individuals.

“My PAST supporters have bought into this ‘bulls—’ hook, line, and sinker,” Trump wrote. “Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats’ work… I don’t want their support anymore!”

DOJ Memo Sparks Backlash

The renewed uproar among some conservatives follows a recent Department of Justice memo stating it found no evidence of an “incriminating client list” connected to Epstein, a convicted sex offender whose 2019 death in jail was ruled a suicide.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has come under scrutiny for her past comments suggesting she had access to a “client list,” only to later walk back those claims. Bondi clarified during a cabinet meeting last week that the document on her desk was unrelated to Epstein’s clients.

Trump, however, defended Bondi.
“She says, ‘I gave you all the credible information,’ and if she finds any more, she’ll give that too. What more can she do?” he told reporters. “We do have bigger problems.”

Fracture Within the GOP

The president’s remarks have divided Republicans. House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., voiced cautious support for transparency, saying, “We should put everything out there and let the people decide.”

An earlier attempt by House Democrats to attach an amendment to a cryptocurrency bill that would have required the release of Epstein-related documents was blocked by Republicans on the Rules Committee.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., who previously called on the DOJ to “release the Epstein client list,” appeared to respond indirectly to Trump’s rebuke, posting:

“My blind loyalty and faith is ONLY in God and Jesus Christ my savior. That is what will guide my decisions, actions, and votes.”

The growing division underscores the unease in MAGA-aligned circles, where conspiracy theories about Epstein’s death and influence have long circulated. Trump himself once praised Epstein as a “terrific guy” in a 2002 New York Magazineinterview but said after Epstein’s 2019 arrest that they had fallen out “a long time ago.”

On Tuesday, Trump signaled fatigue with the controversy:

“It’s pretty boring stuff. It’s sordid, but it’s boring, and I don’t understand why it keeps going.”

Still, his remarks ignited criticism on social media from supporters who feel the president is backpedaling on promises of government transparency and accountability.

Epstein’s death — and the lingering mystery around those who may have been involved with or shielded by him — remains a volatile issue, one that has now exposed clear fractures in the very movement Trump helped build.
