Rudy Giuliani will not represent Donald Trump in his upcoming impeachment trial.

“Due to the fact that I may be a witness, the rule of legal ethics would prohibit me from representing the President as trial counsel in the impeachment trial,” Giuliani told the Hill.

Giuliani made a speech at Trump’s “Save America” rally, where he shouted to the crowd, “Let’s have trial by combat.”

According to Business Insider, the New York Bar Association is investigating Giuliani for the comments he made during the rally.

Trump has not announced who will represent him during his trial.

“Trump has not yet made a determination as to which lawyer or law firm will represent him for the disgraceful attack on our Constitution and democracy, known as the ‘impeachment hoax,’” Hogan Gidley, press secretary for Trump’s reelection campaign, said.
