The White House late Friday released the results of President Donald Trump’s latest physical examination, with his physician concluding that the president remains in excellent health while recommending increased exercise and additional weight loss.
In a medical memorandum, White House physician Sean Barbabella wrote that Trump continues to demonstrate strong physical and cognitive health.
“President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function,” Barbabella wrote. “Cognitive and physical performance are excellent. He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
The report noted that Trump received preventive counseling during the examination, including guidance on diet, recommendations to increase physical activity, continue losing weight and take a low-dose aspirin.
According to the physician’s assessment, Trump stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 238 pounds. The figure represents an increase from his April 2025 physical, when he weighed 224 pounds.
The examination took place Tuesday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and marked Trump’s third medical evaluation there since returning to office in 2025. Before the visit, the White House described the appointment as a routine annual medical and dental assessment.
After completing the exam, Trump briefly commented on social media, writing that “Everything checked out PERFECTLY.”
Doctor Notes Improvement in Leg Swelling
The report also addressed health issues that have generated public attention during Trump’s second term.
Barbabella wrote that mild lower-leg swelling was observed during the examination but had improved since last year. The White House previously disclosed that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that can cause blood to pool in the veins due to weakened vein valves.
The report noted that the swelling remains mild and showed signs of improvement.
Trump has also faced questions about recurring bruising on his hands, which the White House has attributed to frequent handshakes and the blood-thinning effects of aspirin use.
Neurological and Cognitive Exams Show Normal Results
According to the physician’s report, Trump underwent a comprehensive neurological examination that found normal mental status, motor strength, sensation, reflexes, balance and gait.
The president also completed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a screening tool used to detect mild cognitive impairment and early dementia. Barbabella reported that Trump scored a perfect 30 out of 30.
Heart Health Findings
The report highlighted favorable cardiovascular findings as well.
Barbabella said an AI-assisted electrocardiogram analysis estimated Trump’s cardiac age to be approximately 14 years younger than his actual age.
The physician also confirmed that Trump continues to take aspirin but did not specify the dosage in the report.
Trump previously told The Wall Street Journal that he takes a 325-milligram aspirin daily despite doctors recommending a lower preventive dose. He said the medication contributes to bruising but believes it benefits his cardiovascular health.
The White House released the medical report after several days of questions about the results of Trump’s visit, making the findings public four days after the president’s examination.
